Since, our wiki has a really active chat. We need to make sure our chat mods are doing there job well. As a result, we made this guide to help them be sure of there job and make sure they don't abuse.

Revealing ages[]

Club Penguin Wiki follows COPPA, due to that they can't reveal there age in chat. If an user reveals his/her age and they're below than 13. Then, you must ban them directly from chat (remember to give the reason) and report to an admin. The admin would probably block that user of no. of months or years depending on age. But, if an user above 13 revealed then it's probably okay.

Examples:

  • Example 1: Hello, I'm 9 yrs. old!
  • Example 2: When I joined cp I was 9 yrs. in 2012 (in the same year).
  • Example 3: I joined cp when I was 7 in 2009 (current is 2012, so it means he's COPPA).

Giving away personal info[]

For the user safety, we don't allow any user to give away any personal info. He/She is not allowed to give away there house address, some deep personal info about family. Although, he's allowed to tell his country name, since there is no problem with that. He can reveal his first name like, "Jake". But, not full name like, "Jack (family name)".

Examples of info allowed:

  • Example 1: I live in China!
  • Example 2: My real name starts with "H".
  • Example 3: I have three sisters and one brother.
  • Example 4: My father got hurt.

Examples of info not allowed:

  • Example 1: My phone number/mobile is @@@@#### (numbers present).
  • Example 2: My home address is Road:****, House:****, Block:****.
  • Example 3: My uncle's address is Road:****, House:****, Block:****.
  • Example 4: My name is Jack Harrison (Harrison is family name).

Swearing[]

This part is totally simple when an user swears, then you directly ban with random period of time. But, you must be really careful when checking whether it's a swear or not. Since, an "X" appears in a swear word, some of those swear words fill up a normal word. You'll understand with some few examples.

Examples

  • Example 1: I'm totally free to (ass)ist (You'll notice a "X" popping, so please don't consider that as swearing).
  • Example 2: (Shit)epenfubi? (That word was meaningless, which also includes a swear, so it's surely considered a swear).
  • Example 3: You're all f*cking losers (There is no need to discuss about it, that's swear for sure).

Spamming[]

Most of the chat moderators still find difficulty in understanding what is considered a spam and what is not a spam. According to Wikipedia spam is unsolicited or undesired electronic messages.
